Today I have started with the Norfolk County Accessibility Advisory Committee (ACC). This committee gives advice to the County Council to help it carry out its responsibilities under the AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act).
With the knowledge I’m gaining from my appointment to this committee I plan on being a Freelance Disability Consultant as well.
*Update November 18th, 2014. I have now been appointed the vice-chair of the committee.
*Update March 15th, 2016. My appointment as the vice-chair has ended and I’m now appointed as the chair of the committee.
*Starting in July 2016 started working on getting Accessibility Mats for Port Dover’s beach approved. This project was finally approved and completed in 2017
*Update April 16, 2019. My appointment as the Chair has ended and I’m now back to being the vice-chair.
*Update February 18th, 2020. My appointment as the vice-chair has now ended and I’m now just a regular member of the committee.
